Halik Sa Apoy or Fiery Kiss is a Filipino drama series produced by Viva Television and aired over GMA Network. It stars Carmina Villaroel, Ynez Veneracion, Bobby Andrews and Tirzo Cruz III. The series was directed by Jay Altarejos.

Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński is secretly abducted from the Primate’s Palace and sent into solitary confinement at Stoczek Warmiński, accompanied by Father Stanisław, recently freed from Rawicz, and Sister Leonia, coerced from Grudziądz, forming an unlikely retinue in his enforced exile. As state spies and the camp commandant conspire to break the Primate’s resolve, Father Stanisław risks everything to smuggle word of Wyszyński’s whereabouts to the outside, hoping to foil the regime’s darkest “third variant.”

Royal scribe Janek is falsely accused of stealing a nobleman’s jeweled chest and must flee the kingdom to save his life, chased by the sinister Lord Dietrich who demands Princess Amálka’s hand for the missing treasure. Amálka defies her betrothal to join Janek, and together they unravel a centuries-old conspiracy, expose the true thief marked by a mysterious symbol, and discover their growing love, while their pursuers close in.

Sa Bangji was an intersex person who according to historical records lived during Korea’s Joseon Dynasty. Taken in by a kindly benefactor, Sa Bangji lives in a monastery that is one day visited by a young widow, Lee So-sa, who is in mourning following the death of her husband. The pair’s meeting seems predestined, with the erotic attraction between Sa Bangji and Lee So-sa soon evolving into something far more transcendent – and dangerous. While aspects of the film – its stylised depiction of female actors and sex – identify it as a product of its time, Sa Bangji is undeniably a milestone in screen representations of intersex people, a film that refuses to shy away from the horrendous stigmatization faced by its titular character.
